It was Heraclitus who said “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.” I love this quote.
Of course, Heraclitus died covered in dung after failing to cure himself of dropsy, so stepping into any river certainly would have helped, but going for the occasional swim might have saved his life.
